Firstdraft is a not-for-profit, independent artist-run gallery for emerging artists and curators that provides a space for a diverse range of practices and projects. The gallery is run by an enthusiastic group of artists and curators on a volunteer basis and has done so, with a rotating directorship, for nearly 20 years.
Firstdraft aims to create a forum for the critical discussion and dissemination of art by emerging contemporary artists by offering a professional and accessible gallery. As well as the ongoing exhibition program, our current projects include a forum series, the Emerging Curator program, an on-site Studio Residency program, and the affiliated art publication Runway.
